Der Trifidnebel (M 20 oder NGC 6514) ist ein Emissions- und Reflexionsnebel mit einer scheinbaren Helligkeit von +9.0 mag. Er befindet sich im Sternbild Sch\u00fctze. Der Name kommt aus dem lateinischen trifidus (dreigeteilt), da er von einer dunklen Staubwolke (Barnard 85) in drei Teile geteilt wird.<\/p>\n

Im Trifidnebel entstehen laufend neue Sterne, es handelt sich um ein H-II-Gebiet.<\/p>\n

Er ist ist etwa 5’200 Lichtjahre von uns entfernt. Weil er recht weit s\u00fcdlich ist, ist der Nebel in Mitteleuropa nicht sehr gut zu beobachten.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n
