Bodes Galaxie (M 81 oder NGC 3031) ist eine Spiralgalaxie mit einer Helligkeit von 7.0 mag im Sternbild Grosser B\u00e4r. Sie ist rund 12 Millionen Lichtjahre entfernt. Mit gesch\u00e4tzten 200 Milliarden Sonnenmassen ist sie etwas kleiner als unsere Milchstrasse. Das zentrale schwarze Loch hat eine Masse von rund 70 Millionen Sonnenmassen und ist damit etwa 15-mal massereicher als das Schwarze Loch im  Zentrum unserer Galxie.<\/p>\n

M 81 ist bereits mit einem Feldstecher gut erkennbar. In der N\u00e4he befindet sich M 82, eine etwas lichtschw\u00e4chere Spiralgalaxie. Zusammen bilden diese beiden Galaxien den Kern der M 81-Galaxiengruppe, die als echte physikalische Gruppe einer der n\u00e4chsten Nachbarn zu unserer lokalen Gruppe ist.<\/p>\n
