Der IC 434 ist ein Emissionsnebel im Sternbild Orion. Zwischen diesem Emissionsnebel und der Erde befindet sich eine Dunkelwolke, welche die Form eines Pferdekopfnebels hat. Diesen nennt man daher Pferdekopfnebel. Es ist wohl eines der bekanntesten Deep-Sky Objekte die es gibt.<\/p>\n

Entdeckt wurde er von Williamina Fleming auf einem Foto im Jahr 1887.<\/p>\n

Weil seiner geringen Helligkeit ist er jedoch nur mittels fotografischer Langzeitbelichtung oder mit mittelgrossen Teleskopen sichtbar.<\/p>\n

Das Fotografieren des Pferdekopfnebels ist nicht ganz so einfach. Neben der \u00fcblichen Problematik mit der schwachen Helligkeit des Objekts kommt hier noch zus\u00e4tzlich der Stern Alnitak ins Spiel. Dies ist einer der G\u00fcrtelsterne des Sternbilds Orion uns im Vergleich zum Pferdekopfnebel sehr hell. Das f\u00fchrt zu diversen Problemen, unter anderem auch Reflexionen. Dies ist im ersten Bild welches ich am 30. M\u00e4rz 2019 vom Pferdekopfnebel unten links gut sichtbar.<\/p>\n
